Henry's notes for today:
Day 38: We were committed to slightly less mileage today, so we hoped to find a place to watch the women's World Cup soccer final. We found that haven in Cut Bank, MT, 24 miles after we left Shelby. Even though it was a Sunday, the sports bar there was open for the game, which started at 9 am. The bar was populated with locals (men, no women) enthusiastically watching the game. We were welcomed warmly by all there, and the mood became more boisterous later in the match as the outcome became more certain. Shortly after leaving Cut Bank, the imposing wall of the Montana Rockies emerged and loomed larger as we rode 35 more miles towards Browning, our destination for the evening on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The shoulder was good all day today, and although forecasted to have winds coming out of the west, we did not generally sense anything more than a side wind from the south as we proceeded west. There was an ominous storm brewing in the southwest heading towards us, and when the bolts of lightning started, Linda found new energy in her legs to get to the Browning casino hotel a little more hastily. We were comfortably submerged in the hotel hot tub when the downpour arrived. Our dinner at the casino restaurant was surprising good and inexpensive for the quantity of food provided. Tim only had to order one dinner tonight, although he and Jeff could not resist the bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to insure that there would not be any hunger pangs late at night. After dinner, we walked 1/4 mile to the IGA to pick up some provisions for the next couple of days in the park.

We will be riding into Glacier NP tomorrow, hoping to secure a tent site, which can be scarce during this peak season. We likely will not have cell phone or internet service for 48 hours or more, so the blog postings will be somewhat delayed.
